The Ineligible President

The Emperor has this piece about Obama, which led me to this piece at TD. I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t make a legal opinion on it, but the constitution is quite clear on such matters. It seems there’s a very good chance that Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen and therefore not eligible to run for, let alone actually hold the office of, President of the United States.

My first reaction to this was a simple and subdued “that figures.” It’s not at all surprising to me that the Senator from Illinois is a lying cheat. What I don’t get is why more people haven’t figured that out yet, especially after the Bill Clinton experience. We should be able to spot one of those a mile away by now.

Drew over at the Barking Moonbat Early Warning System believe if Obama gets pulled from the ballot for being a lying sack of snake excrement there will be riots. So? What’s the problem with that? Do you have any idea how many of these fascist bastards we can take out over the course of one single riot? Seriously though, if they riot because their ineligible candidate was ineligible none of them will be able to get elected to anything for a very long time. I say bring it on.

Hot Air has an opposing view point that is altogether plausible and logical, but it proves nothing. If there is, indeed, a Kenyan birth certificate for Barack Obama, that’s a question that has to be addressed and answered regardless of whether he wins the election or not.

At the end of the day the most amazing thing about this is the plausibility. The fact that this is a possibility that does not, and should not, be any surprise to anyone is more telling than even the fact would be. I think that is the real issue here. How is it even possible that this question could even come up?
