The evidence is clear. In 2005 and again in 2006 Republicans in the Senate attempted to pass legislation that would have prevented the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and hence the financial catastrophe that has followed. Democrats blocked it. Earlier in this decade people such as Treasury Secretary John Snow and Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told congress in no uncertain terms that this was going to happen. The congress, and in particular the house ignored the problem.
Central to those situations were three members of congress. Two Senators, Christopher Dodd and Charles Schumer, and House member Barney Frank. These three lawmakers were instrumental and are directly responsible for not taking action when needed to avert this disaster. There were others involved, but these three pushed this, and profited from it as well.
I demand the immediate and irreversible resignation of Barney Frank, Charles Schumer and Christopher Dodd from the Congress of the United States. They have betrayed their constituents and their oaths of office. All three of these men should resign now and be investigated for possible prosecution. If you agree post on your blog and tell your friends. Let’s get going.
None of these men should be able to show their face in public without hearing one word and one word only: RESIGN.
