Ok, there’s been a lot of stuff going down the past 24 hours or so. I’m not sure how I’m going to get to all of it so I probably won’t. For the moment though, I want to point to a few things I hope are indictitive of a new trend.
First, there was Bill O’Reilly and Barny Frank. Finally, someone called Frank out and dressed him down for all the social engineering crap he’s been responsible for the past couple decades or so. There is video HERE of the interview. O’Reilly ripped into Frank pretty good, and he certainly deserves it, but I agree with Ed Morrissey who wrote in the HotAir piece with the video:
“it might feel good to yell at Barney Frank — and it did, according to the crowd reaction — but that interview called for a prosecuting attorney, one prepared to dispassionately slice Frank to pieces with facts, quotes, and figures.”
I have to agree with Morrissey on this, but at least someone is putting up a fight. It’s about damn time. While I’m not sure how helpful the shouting match was, I think the fact that people are seeing that, Yes, you can yell at Barney Frank and call him a coward. I’m sure O’Reilly will be back on TV today doing his show. This ain’t Nazi Germany yet, despite the best efforts of Barney and his boys!
Another thing that happened was on Hannity and Combs. Alan Combs tried to hit Dick Morris with some of his typically idiotic talking points. This caused Morris to blast him a good one. This is how you deal with liberal spew. Knock it down and keep knocking it down until it stays down.
Then there was the Palin/Biden debate. Gee, I wonder if Joe ever found those socks again. While it was a more formal venue than the TV punditverse, and while there were a lot of missed opportunities, Sarah still managed to give Joe a black eye and a bloody lip. She approached it with a no BS, go for the throat with a smile on your face attitude that I hope the ticket carries forward.
Look, we shouldn’t have to be defending ourselves here. Sarbanes/Oxley wasn’t our idea. We’re not the one’s who bought the votes of poor and middle class people with money fleeced from “the rich.” We’re not the one’s who blackmailed banks into making horrible mortgages available to people who could never afford them.
Here’s what I think: The best defense is a totally devastating offense. We have the ammo and we have people who are positioned to take those shots. So why aren’t they doing it? Is it possible that Barney Frank is not the only coward in congress? There are enough real conservative memebers of the house and the senate to make enough noise about it so no one, not even the Obama MSM, can ignore it.
The left is wrong. They’ve always been wrong. There is evidence of that everywhere, especially today. Call them out on every lie. Argue every point. Don’t give them a day’s rest or an inch of slack. What the hell are you waiting for? Attack!
