Hold The Line

The pending financial disaster is coming down to the wire. Yes, I think the bailout bill will create a disaster no less than doing nothing would. I don’t advocate doing nothing, but the solution come to by the idiots who caused the problem in the first place is as dangerous as one might expect.

Throwing $700 billion at the problem is no more a solution than throwing $7 at it. That’s not going to help, because the bad paper they want to buy up with the money isn’t the problem. The fault lies in the concept of artificial economic engineering. This bail out bill is nothing more than a very expensive expansion of exactly that. The solution is to remove all of the artificialities created by the government over the past several decades.
