Stepping Up

Let’s see, there is a major financial crisis going on and it is clearly known by many, certainly enough, to be able to point directly at the people and legislation responsible for the problem. It is also very clearly known who the people are who’ve warned, cajoled, and tried to legislate to try to stop it. Given this is a political situation as much as it is a financial one, it’s not surprising to find not a single person willing to stand up and take responsibility either for causing the problem or delivering a solution.

The only thing we’ve gotten from the congressional majority leadership is what we always get from them: Political spin and lies. Pelosi made that speech yesterday for a very simple reason: she simply doesn’t know anything else. The democrats aren’t trying to solve this problem, at least that is not their primary concern. They’re engaged in a political operation designed to deflect blame. They just don’t want anyone to know that it’s their policies and practices that caused this in the first place. The facts are very clear and all of them, from the lowliest backbencher to Barack Obama himself, are culpable in this.

The democrats created a system whereby they could do two important things: First is to get votes, second is to raise money. They got votes by buying them from poor people with cheap and easy mortgages and big government giveaways paid for with other people’s money. They raised money by cutting sweetheart deals with Fannie and Freddie by putting their people in charge and raking in millions in campaign contributions from them and other financial companies, some of them under coercion.

There’s another situation to take a look at in this as well. Community organizing. These are the people who delivered the poor people to the lenders and delivered the lenders to the democrats under coercion. Gee, there’s that word again. Groups like ACORN went to the banks and other institutions and simply told them to make the loans or they would file complaints to tie up other deals until they did. Basically, the community organizers blackmailed the banks to kill the economy and knew what they were doing when they did itl.

It could be argued that this is a direct attempt to bring down capitalism in the United States. Many of the players are anti-capitalist organizations. ACORN is only one of many such organizations. I think right now the socialists are running the show and they’re hell bent on turning the United States into a multitrillion dollar nanny state with all the power concentrated in their hands. Why isn’t anyone stepping up to challenge them directly?

Make no mistake, a lot more than our financial future is at stake here. These people are determined to recreate the United States in their own twisted fascist image and right now they’re winning.
